Allison Joy McKinney (b. 1997, Redding, CA) is a multimedia artist and photographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She holds a BFA in Photography/Digital Imaging and Sculpture/Intermedia from the University of Utah. Roted in her experience with chronic illness, her work navigates the tension between the natural and the artificial, the ethereal and the corporeal.

She is drawn to the intricate mechanics of emotion and sensory experience within the body, dissecting how identity intersects with biology, pathology, and perception. Her imagery often meditates on the diagnostic impulse—how both body and mind are categorized, managed, and misunderstood. Her work reflects a desire to both identify with and transcend the body, tracing the liminal space between embodiment and dissolution.

Her work has been exhibited locally and internationally.
